Richard Philbin

Richard Philbin, a composer, woodwind player, and teacher, currently resides in Manhattan’s Washington Heights district. After growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Richard went on to complete a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies with a minor degree in Abstract Mathematics at the University of Southern California in 2009 and a Master of Music degree in Jazz Composition at the Manhattan School of Music in 2013. Richard has studied with Dr. Ed Green, Bob Sheppard, Dann Zinn, John Daversa, Jason Goldman, Jon Palacio Jr., and Gilbert Castillanos. He is currently employed as a freelance composer/performer and private instructor.
